Skills Builder for Athletes
Peak performance begins with the brain!
Much attention is often given to an athlete’s physical development, with relatively little emphasis on the brain’s role in reaching peak performance. The Skills Builder empowers coaches and athletes with cutting edge brain research and practical applications that can be easily integrated into practices and games to decrease stress, maximize brain capacity and build underdeveloped skill sets and mindsets needed to gain an edge over the competition.
Using recent Neuroscience findings about the effect of stress on the brain’s ability to think, learn and perform, we show coaches and athletes how to identify barriers getting in the way of peak performance. Using our innovative process, elevate your players’ abilities to reach goals, overcome obstacles and take their game to the next level while building executive function in the following essential areas:
- Goal Setting
- Planning and Prioritizing
- Organizing
- Sharpening Attention and Focus
- Increasing Memory Capacity
- Building Effective Communication and Collaboration
- Increasing Mental Flexibility to Adjust Focus and Perspective
- Boosting Self Control
- Self Monitoring Progress
- Establishing a Growth Mindset
Learning how to sync the brain and body to increase performance can make the difference between maintaining one’s position on a team, winning and losing a game, making it to the postseason or succeeding in school, relationships, jobs and the big game of life.
I now have an understanding about stress, how it works, how to manage it…I know when anxiety is hurting me and how to use these new strategies to my advantage in school, relationships, sports and new challenges in my life. I’m now more comfortable with uncertain or different situations that were once uncomfortable.
